In the heart of the·Parc Régional du Luberon,·this Roussillon property enjoys an exceptional location. Built into the hillside, facing south-west, the luxury house has wonderful, panoramic views of the Luberon, the Mont de Vaucluse hills, and the renowned village of Gordes, which can be enjoyed from any room in the house, from the balconies, terraces, and the inifinity pool. The environment is secluded, private and very quiet, yet the house is just 500 metres from the village centre.
THE COLOURS OF PROVENCE
The village of Roussillon is a unique, hill-top village built on the world’s largest ochre vein, and the oranges, yellows, pinks and reds of the ochre present throughout the village give it special charm attracting artists and photographers from around the world.·Roussillon has an excellent butcher and baker, a pharmacy, newsagent, bookshop, grocer, and several boutiques and art galleries. There are numerous restaurants to choose from and attractive cafés on the main square.
Roussillon is in the heart of Le Parc Régional du Luberon, a very lovely, protected area about 45 minutes east of Avignon and often compared to Tuscany. The beauty of the countryside, the spectacular views from the hill-top villages, several of which are listed as being amongst the most beautiful villages in France, and the general historical and cultural interest of the region make it one of the most renowned areas in France. Our two holiday homes are very well situated for enjoying the top destinations of Provence. Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, with their famous summer theatre and music festivals, are no more than an hour away. The charming market town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue with its vast antique market is just 20 minutes away. Cassis & the Calanques, Marseille, Arles & the Camargue, St. Rémy & Les Baux are all easily accessible as day trips.
